Weston, PBG in Winners’ Circle SFPGA Junior Tour event at Mayacoo Lakes CC
Weston's Valentina Hurtado took home first-place honors in the overall girls division, while Palm Beach Gardens' Alexander Weinberg claims the overall boys division title at Mayacoo Lakes Country Club in West Palm Beach. The Junior Tour event, Sept. 18-19, featured Championship and Challenge Tour players.
In the girls division, Hurtado finished the two-day, 36-hole event at 2-over par, handing in scorecards of 72-72–144. She finished five strokes ahead of Doral's Skylee Shin. Shin wrapped up play at 7-over-par, 78-71-149, finishing runner-up in a scorecard playoff.
Weinberg carded the lowest final round at 4-under-par, 67 to force a playoff with Elijah Zammarron of Sunrise. Weinberg would go onto birdie hole 18 in a sudden-death playoff to claim the title.
Weinberg signed cards of 71-67-138, which included nine birdies over 36 holes.
Winning the boys 11-12 division, Port St. Lucie's Jaden Peterson (71-74–145) finished at 3 over. He led the division with seven birdies. In second place, winning in a scorecard playoff, Hobe Sound's Cooper Foegan finished at 8 over.
