Pat Patterson of Boca Raton broke away from the pack with a 5-under-par 67 – the lowest score of the week — to win the Treasure Coast Senior Tour’s 17th annual Tour Championship at The Fox Club on Tuesday, Sept. 29 in Palm City.
At 137, Patterson, an assistant professional at Royal Palm Yacht & Country Club, won the Arnold Palmer Division by six strokes after sharing the first round lead at 2-under 70 with Steve Vecellio of Frenchman’s Reserve in Palm Beach Gardens.
In the Byron Nelson Division, Sue Ginter won for the second time in three years by 148 to 149 over Brad Partridge of Tequesta. Ginter is a former club pro who has become a successful landscape artist. She won the B flight in 2018 with 147, also at The Fox Club.
Joe Kern of Hawk’s Nest in Vero Beach was the player of the year based on a combination of money earned, stroke average and top three finishes. Other award winners were:
Money list – Jerry Tucker, Stuart, $3,929;
Most improved – T.J. Patel, Jensen Beach;
Sportsmanship – Jack Saffold, Stuart, and Robbie Dew, Palm Beach Gardens.
The circuit for pros and amateurs 50 years and older played 24 tournaments this year. There were 28 entries in the Tour Championship. Play resumes in February.
