MLGT: Foursome Shares First As Darkness Wins
Four players matched 4-under-par 68s to share the victory in Minor League Golf Tour play when darkness prevented a playoff on the East course at Indian Spring Country Club in Boynton Beach.
The quartet ranged from Sunny Kim of Queens, N.Y., who leads the MLGT with career totals of 75 wins and earnings of $298,149, to Carr Vernon of Poplar Bluff, Mo., who was making his first start on the Stuart-based mini-tour.
Kim made four birdies and Vernon had six with two bogeys. The others were Ethan Marcus of Boca Raton, seven birdies, a bogey and a double bogey; and Paul Pastore. Stamford, Conn., five birdies and one bogey.
Like Vernon, neither Marcus nor Pastor has won an MLGT event. Each of the four received $650 from the $5,555 purse. Marcus and Pastore collected $213 apiece from the optional bonus pool, upping their totals to $863.
Three of the 42 starters tied for fifth at 69.
