Jack Nicklaus, Lee Trevino, and Bobby Jones.

How many hole-in-ones?

I have had some in practice, but one in competition – 1981 in Houston. It was a 145-yard hole and I used an 8-iron with an Orange Wilson staff. I have had a few go in and come out and come close.

Teaching goals?

I want to know their goals, limitations if there are any, and where they are and where they want to go. They are not here to fulfill my ideas; I am here to help them get to where they want to go.

Parkland's Toughest hole?

No. 4, Par-4 from the black tees, about 440 yards. Water down the right, out of bounds and bunkers down the left. Dogleg left to right. You can’t miss the green to the right – it rolls into the water. Bogey probably gains a shot on the field.

You are proudest of …

The number of college scholarships we have been able to secure. Between here and Club Med, we got every single kid who worked for us into college or were instrumental. I’ve had some get 100 percent, some got 25 … we’ve saved a lot of parents a lot of money.

Most difficult hole?

No. 17, Lake Kiowa Golf Course. It is 225-yards over a lake with a bunker, and the wind is about 15 miles an hour in your face.

Best part about being a teaching pro?

I help people achieve their goals and it is fun to see it all.
