Get Out There and Play CCGT made golf even more fun
I was only about eight weeks into playing golf after a few lessons and only a few rounds – in other words, as green as they come. But I already jumped into my first golf tournament! Why on earth did I enter a Coastal Cup Golfer’s Tour event as a total newbie with an over 30 handicap?
Three reasons.
First, my more experienced and skilled golfer husband wanted me to join him, and I didn’t want to let him down.
Second, I love a good challenge.
And third, but most important, Keith and Alma from Davie Golf Club put my worries about being a beginner golfer to rest and made me feel so welcomed.
They assured me it would be stress-free, great camaraderie, and lots and lots of fun. Happy to say they truly delivered! From the great-looking shirts, hats and golf towels they gave us, to the amazing prizes and sponsor giveaways, Keith and his team made sure it was not only a fun day on the beautiful greens, but also a very rewarding one!
My husband, Brett, won an Edwin Watts gift card for $100 for being the closest ball to the flag using the golf ball cannon on the first tee. That was such an exciting and fun way to start the day! He also won a $50 gift card for being closest to the pin on the second hole.
We were paired with a fabulous couple from North Palm Beach, and by the end of the day we felt like old friends ready for our well-earned cocktails (which CCGT even gave us free vouchers for) at Geronimo’s Grill. There was lots of cheering for the winners, generous prizes and great stories and laughter. An all-around terrific time with really nice people. Can’t ask for more than that!
I am so glad we joined the CCGT. Congratulations and thanks to Keith, Alma and all the hard-working people at Davie for an excellent first tournament.
We’re looking forward to the next one!
